METHOD FOR DETERMINING NICKEL SALT, METAL NICKEL AND NICKEL OXIDE IN CARBONATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of separating and determining nickel salts, metal nickel and nickel oxides in carbonates without producing nickel hydroxides nor causing the metal nickel and nickel oxides to dissolve.;SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of separating nickel salts, metal nickel and nickel oxides contained in carbonates, measuring the amount of nickel in each component, and determining the grades of the nickel salts, the metal nickel and the metal oxides from the measurements. The carbonates are first contacted with an ammonium solution to separate the nickel salts.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
