PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interferometer requiring no beam splitter, using a simple optical system. ;SOLUTION: This interferometer 10 is provided with the transparent first and second parallel plates 16, 18 of same thickness and same refractive index. The first plate 16 is rotatable with respect to a rotary shaft 20 extended in parallel to a main face 16a of the first plate 16. The second plate 18 is provided to make a main face 18a of the second plate 18 be in parallel to the rotary shaft 20. The first and second parallel plates 16, 18 are arranged to make one portion of measured light pass through within rotation locus of the first plate 16, and to make at least one portion other than the one-portion hereinbefore of the measured light pass through inside the second plate 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
