PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a lance for blowing oxygen and a suitable condition of this nozzle for achieving high secondary combustion and high heat conducting efficiency when metallic ore is mass-produced in a large-scale smelting reduction furnace.;SOLUTION: In the case the horizontal cross-sectional area (a) in molten slag part is 10 m2 to 30 m2 or in the case the horizontal cross-sectional area A surrounded with an iron shell in the smelting furnace is 20 m2 to 40 m2, one piece of a multi-hole nozzle is used. In the case the (a) is ≥30 m2 or in the case the A is ≥40 m2, plural pieces of the multi-hole nozzles are used. The total number (ntotal) of the nozzles are made to (a)ntotal≤3a. Further, the nozzle hole is disposed at the height within 600 mm from the tip part of the blowing lance. Furthermore, in the case of using V for volume in the molten material pool part, the number of the lances are made to 1+Int(V /60)≤N≤3×Int{(V/60)2} or in the case of being V60 m2, the number of the lances are made to 0.6≤ntotal≤2 V.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
