PURPOSE: To monitor the surface condition of electrode in generally applicable way and to improve the welding quality at continuous spotting by detecting welding current, voltage between electrodes, pressurizing force and calculating an energizing diameter based on the numerical analysis of the detected values. ;CONSTITUTION: The welding current required for assuming energizing diameter is detected at a current detecting part 1 and the voltage between electrodes at a voltage detecting part 2, outputting to an operating part 3. In a memory part 4, a shape and material of the electrode and material to be welded used at the numerical analysis of energizing diameter estimate inputted beforehand are memorized. In company with the above as well as the physical quantities measured by the current detecting part 1 and voltage detecting part 2, by the numerical analysis based on a resistance model and heat transfer model the energizing diameter is estimated. Energizing diameter model curve is read out from the memory part 5, it is compared with the energizing diameter estimated result outputted from the operating part 3 at a comparing part 6. Further, the output from the comparing part 6 is showed as a surface condition of electrode at an output part 7, electrode is monitored by an output from the output part 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
