PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool path data generating device for quickly and exactly generating tool path data based on CAD(computer aided design) data. SOLUTION: This tool path data generating device is provided with a feature data extraction processing part 6 for extracting features related with at least the three-dimensional shape of an object to be worked based on the shape data of the object to be worked prepared by using a CAD, a tool and working information storing part 8 for storing a working mode corresponding to the feature shape, a working method setting processing part 9 for setting the optimal working method for each feature shape based on the extracted feature data and the tool and working information, and a tool path data generation processing part 13 for generating tool path data based on the set working method. At the time of generating the tool path data, the data input of an operator is not necessitated so that the tool path data can be quickly generated.
