GENERATING METHOD FOR THREE-DIMENISONAL MESH FOR FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for generating three-dimensional meshes for a structure as an object of finite element analysis of a three-dimensional structure. ;SOLUTION: This method includes a step (50) for dividing the surface of a structure into triangles, a step (52) for preparing master meshes including the structure, a step (58) for processing elements at least the triangle divisions cross among the elements of the master meshes, so that the element parts in the structure are composed of elements of three-dimensional meshes and have 1st prescribed topology characteristics, i.e., a step for cutting (60) or/and remeshing (62), and a step (64) for discarding element parts which lie outside the structure. The three-dimensional meshes are automatically generated completely or at least partially. Nevertheless, the generated three-dimensional meshes, however, have satisfactory characteristics for subsequent finite element calculation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
