PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent software from illegally being used by a simple method when the use of the software is licensed by client computers. ;SOLUTION: When software is installed in a client computer, a user generates unrecognizable identification data Di and outputs a license code and the identification data as a set to a server computer. The server computer registers the inputted license code and identification data as a set of data, registers the inputted code data together with the identification data when no code matching with the license code is registered, and outputs a software use permission signal to the client computer; when a code matching with the license code is registered, a use permission signal is outputted and when the identification data are discrepant, a software use nonpermission signal is outputted to the client computer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
