PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pretreating molten iron for producing non- colored slag having low MnO concentration.;SOLUTION: In the pretreating method for desiliconizing, dephophorizing and desulfurizing the molten iron, the Mn content in the molten iron to be subjected to the dephosphorizing treatment is adjusted to ≤0.30 wt.%, and the dephosphorized slag produced when the desiliconization and dephosphorization treatments are performed by blowing oxygen is removed. Thereafter, when the desulfurizing treatment is performed by blowing a desulfurizing agent, the desulfurized slag having ≤1.8 wt.% MnO content is produced by performing the desulfurization while keeping the slag basicity (CaO/SiO2) to ≥3.0.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
