PRE-MUFFLE STRUCTURE WITH RESONATOR PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a pre-muffle with resonator pipe of which cost is largely reduced, without reducing muffling property caused by resonance action.;SOLUTION: A resonator member 7a is formed by folding a strip-like plate so that the plate is in the shape of an approximately U and a center portion thereof forms a depression. Both ends of the resonator member 7a are attached to a side face of a resonance chamber 5F partitioned by an inner plate 4 by spot welding P so as to constitute a resonator pipe 7 disposed between the depression 7b of the resonator member 7a and the inner plate 4 and extends upward from an exhaust pipe 6. A lower end opening 7c of the resonator pipe 7 faces a through hole 6a formed on an upper face of a peripheral wall of the exhaust pipe 6, and an upper end opening 7d opens to the resonance chamber 5F.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
