PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device, which enables a reduction in drive power and also a control in emission spectrum. ;SOLUTION: A layer 5 adjacent to a negative electrode 5 is doped with an organic metal compound as a doner dopant. A change in a thickness of the metal-doped layer 5 produces a change in an optical path length between the negative electrode 6 and an emission layer 4. Also, the metal-doped layer 5 inhibits a spectrum of light emitted from a device. Thus, the metal-doped layer 5 serves as an emission spectrum-controlling layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
