PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make correctly decidable the height of a device stripe by knowing the position of the upper end surface wherein a first resistive element leaves from a lapping surface and the position of the upper end surface of a second resistive element leaving from the lapping surface to the position of the upper end surface of a device.;SOLUTION: A reading sensor material and a material forming first and second resistive elements are deposited on a substrate. Track widths TWR1 and TWR2 of the resistive elements are composed so as to be nearly equal to each other, and the track width TWS of the reading sensor is composed. The track widths TWR1 and TWR2 of the resistive elements are preferably larger than the track width TWS of the reading sensor, and the heights H1 and H2 of the resistive elements are composed so as to differ each other. Continuous signals are utilized, and a lapping parameter is continuously adjusted in order to suitably lap a slider bar.
