PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intelligent network(IN) based on an exchange for automatic processing of a pre-paid telephone card payment transaction. ;SOLUTION: A telephone card payment number, a corresponding PIN (password), balance information or the like are stored in a table maintained by one or some exchange to route calls. Each exchange includes operator service system(OSS) 120, 132 so that the direction of the call processing by a telephone operator can be permitted with the assistance of the selection by a customer (direct dialing to the operator), a service, or automatic processing capability of an exchange connection and control point(SSCP) 114. This system is emergently evacuated to the OSS on the occurrence of any of the situations: a customer requests emergency evacuation, no entry of information is made by a customer when being urged, customer enters wrong information, that is, invalid information for a prescribed number of times or over, and a balance of a pre-paid telephone card is not sufficient for a phone call intended by a customer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
