METHOD FOR PRODUCING AND COLLECTING ERYTHRITOL FROM CULTURE MEDIUM CONTAINING ERYTHRITOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing erythritol by means of fermenting a fermentation culture medium not containing microorganisms without purifying it to collect erythritol crystals. ;SOLUTION: This method is a method by which erythritol is produced by fermentation using an erythritol productive strain in the substantial absence of polysaccharides and then produced erythritol crystals are collected by direct crystallization from an unpurified fermentation broth not containing microorganisms. The above direct crystallization of erythritol is carried out by using the highly dried fermentation broth of more than 80%w/w. The recovery of the erythritol crystal is at least 85% and the purity of the crystals is at least 99%w/w.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
