PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present slice images of the body in the same position to a doctor in a short time by collating a diagnosis image with a comparative image photographed in a different time, compensating a slice position based on deviation of a projection image, and displaying the diagnosis image and the comparative image in the compensated position on a monitor. ;SOLUTION: At first, a diagnosis image column and a comparative image column are inputted (S1). Then, resolutions of the both images are conformed (S2) and the projection images of the respective diagnosis image and the comparative image are formed (S3, S4). A template for searching the projection image of the comparative image is formed from the projection image of the diagnosis image (S5), and pattern matching is performed (S6). In the last, Z-axial deviation is measured in the projection image of the comparative image and the slice position of the comparative image column is compensated by the deviation matching with the diagnosis image column (S7). The diagnosis image and the comparative image in the compensated slice position are displayed on a display of an image comparing and interpreting system (S8).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
