PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe needle protector which is compact, can perform a sure motion, and of which safety is high by using a superelastic metal wire having properties wherein the syringe needle protector is located at a location in which the sharp tip end of a syringe needle can be protected at the beginning, and even when the deformation is released after being deformed, the syringe needle protector returns to the shape at the time being located at the location in which the protection is possible. ;SOLUTION: Before a syringe needle 2 is used, a syringe needle main body 21 of an assembly of this syringe needle protector 1 and the syringe needle 2 is covered by a tubular protector (being separate from a syringe needle protector main body 11). When the syringe needle 2 is used, the tubular protector is removed, and the syringe needle main body 21 is opened, and the syringe needle 2 is used. After the usage of the syringe needle 2, the syringe needle protector main body 11 is moved by the force to return to the initial shape of a superelastic metal wire 12. For the moving method, e.g. the syringe needle protector main body 11 is pushed out with fingers in the direction to the tip end, and the fitting between the syringe needle protector main body 11 and a needle base 23 is released.
