PURPOSE: To obtain the protector capable of surely protecting the disk and the protecting method capable of simply handling the disk. ;CONSTITUTION: A tray 21 has a disk housing part 22, an upper surface opening part 23, a lower surface opening part 27 and a guide part 28, and a case 41 has an inside space 42 and an entrance 43 for taking in and out the tray. The tray 21 is fitted into the inside space 42 from the entrance 43 of the case 41 so as to be freely taken out and in, and the guide part 28 provided in the interior part side of the inside space 42 is mutually touched with the inner surface of the case. At the time of using a disk 11 in this protector, the housing part 22 is drawn out of the inside space 42 by a tray drawing means 73 in an information processor 61, and afterward, the disk 11 in the housing part is clamped between a rotating body 66 and pressing body 68 from the upper surface opening part 23 and the lower surface opening part 27. Then, upon completion of use of the disk 11, the rotating body 66 and the pressing body 68 are separated from the disk 11, and also the housing part 22 is pushed back to the inside space 42 by a tray push-back means 73.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
