PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sinus node cooling device and a heart beat restraint system using it for restraining heart beats and smoothly achieving recovery thereof without restraining the function of a patient's heart in excess nor using large amounts of medicines during cardiosurgery, thereby reducing the patient's burden, enhancing the accuracy of the surgery, and contributing to reduction in medical costs. ;SOLUTION: This device has a cooling means comprising an electrical element with an endothermic surface which abuts against the sinus node 10 of a heart C to cool it, particularly a cooling means comprising a Peltier element 22 with an endothermic surface which radiates heat to the outside. A heat- radiating fin is positioned to abut on the heat-radiating surface of the Peltier element and is designed to surround an air duct 26 to suck air from one end of the air duct, for air cooling of the heat-radiating fin.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
