PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil holding device attaining the effective lubricating and cooling action on the sliding surface of a shaft sealing device even when the oil level in an oil chamber is extremely low, while preventing the entrainment of air into the lubricating oil as well as the dissipation of lubricating oil from a center part in the oil chamber toward the peripheral wall in a motor-driven pump.;SOLUTION: The outside of the double type shaft sealing device 11 in the oil chamber 3 is surrounded by an annular wall body 10, and a mounting flange F2 extended outside the lower edge is fixed onto a lower annular groove peripheral wall 2c. An oil inflow path 13b opened downward in the oil chamber 3 so as to lead to the outside from the inside is provided close to the back side of the lower end part of a guide vane G provided on the inner peripheral surface of the annular wall body 10, and an annular oil outflow groove 13a is formed between the upper face of an air entrainment preventing flange F1 provided being bent inside the upper edge of the annular wall body 10, and the lower face of an upper annular groove peripheral wall 1c.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
