PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gyroscope type rotary polishing mechanism capable of efficiently polishing parts existing inside a polishing tank and maintaining the smooth rotation of rotating elements to thereby remove only a solidified deposit stuck to a metallic medical instrument easily, rapidly and efficiently using this mechanism without damaging the metal part.;SOLUTION: A rotary polishing tank 1 and a polishing tank covering plate 7 with an inner diameter of medium size between the inner diameter and outer diameter of the rotary polishing tank 1, face each other with a horizontal micro clearance D. During rotary polishing, media M collide and rub against the inner bowl-like recessed face of the polishing tank covering plate 7 and move flying toward the center part in the rotary polishing tank 1, so that a media sparse area N appears in an area close to the micro clearance. The rotation of the media M becomes a rotating drive source of hollow axis subordinate rotary shafts 10 through a propeller piece 13 and a main rotary shaft 9 in the media M.
