PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cardboard core structure capable of reducing or substantially eliminating the center burst defect in a paper-making roll wide and heavy. ;SOLUTION: A paper-making core 100 has a winding/unwiding chuck structured so as to admit deformation of the core inside diameter and the inner wall body while a distortion is left on the outside of the core for preventing occurrence of center burst. The paper-making core has a multi-ply zone 106 consisting of cardboard plies relatively soft despite its high strength within 70% outside of the body wall having at least 4-mm thickness. The inner zone constituting at least 25% approximately of the total thickness of the body wall is formed from cardboard ply 102 having a super-high strength and super- high density. It is preferable that the total wall thickness of the core is at least 15 mm approximately and the total is increased compared with a conventional high-strength, large width paper-making core formed from cardboard ply having super-high strength and super-high density and without softness.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
