PURPOSE: To obtain both a 2,5-pyrrole-containing silole compound as a new πelectron conjugated organic compound useful as an optically functional material or its synthetic raw material and a silolepyrrole copolymer and to provide methods for producing the compound and the copolymer. ;CONSTITUTION: This compound is shown by formula I (R1 to R5 are each the same or different 1-12C monofunctional hydrocarbon or H) such as 1,1-diethyl-2,5- bis(N-methyl-2-pyrrolyl)-3,4-diphenylsilole. The compound of formula I is obtained by a reaction equation of formula II (X is a halogen; Y is triorganosilyl, etc.). The compound of formula I is reacted with an organolithium compound and a triorganosilyl halide to give an intermediate, which is polymerized in the presence of an oxidizing agent and a palladium catalyst to give a silole-pyrrole copolymer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
