PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ATM network management unit and an ATM network management method that can automatically grasp a network configuration of an ATM network.;SOLUTION: A horizontal link information collection means 2 collects a list of node information and a list of horizontal links in PNN1 network topology information stored in an ATM switch node directly connected to the means 2. An external link information collection means 3 collects link information with respect to an external link of a lowermost layer in the PNNI network topology information stored in all ATM switch nodes in a pier group to which the ATM switch nodes belong. A database means 4 collects node information and link information in the PNNI network topology information stored in ATM switch nodes belonging to other pier group than that of the directly coupled node on the basis of the link information of the external link so as to reflect the entire configuration of the ATM network onto a network configuration database.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
