PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a measurement range and to improve measurement accuracy by preparing a plurality of calibration curves according to the type of an approximation curve that a device has according to the absorbance of a plurality of standard samples being measured, and selecting one calibration curve with a small calculation SD value out of the calibration curves. ;SOLUTION: When the start switch of an operation panel 23 is depressed, a reaction container 7 starts to be washed by a washing mechanism 10, and further water blank is measured. The measured value becomes the reference of absorbance being measured successively in the reaction container 7. Then, for example, a sample is sucked from a sampling cup 1 by a sample probe 3 and is discharged to the reaction container 7. In the meantime, in a reagent pipetting mechanism, a reagent pipetting mechanism 5a starts to operate and sucks the reagent held by a reagent disk 6a using a probe 24a. Then, the probe 24a moves onto the reaction container 7 to discharge the sucked reagent. Photometry is started after the reagent is added, and is actually conducted when the container 7 crosses luminous flux 14 when a reaction disk 8 is rotated. The container 7 of the reaction disk 8 crosses the luminous flux 14 to measure the absorbance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
