RETURNABLE BOX FOR PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTING HEAVY WEIGHT ITEM IN ITS HUNG STATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic returnable box for a rolled item having a core member therein in which its recycling can be carried out, it has a sufficient strength, its foldable state can reduce a storing space and it assures a superior workability at the time of packaging or package opening operation. SOLUTION: This returnable box comprises a bottom plate 1; a pair of receiving plates 2 connected to the bottom plate 1 in such a way that they can be folded through hinge sections 5 at both side surfaces of the returnable box and having holder sections 6 for supporting end sections of a rolled item with a core member to be stored; a pair of side plates 4 capable of fixing the side surfaces of the returnable box different from the receiving plate surfaces of the returnable box in such a way that they may be released; and a lid member 3. In this case, the bottom plate 1, the pair of receiving plates 2 connected to the bottom plate 1 in such a way that they can be folded and the lid member 3 for supporting at least directly either a weight of item to be stored or a weight of another returnable box when stacked are made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
