PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically detecting the assembled positions of brake force generating units of an electromechanical automotive brake system. ;SOLUTION: This method for automatically detecting the assembled positions of the brake force generating units 3.1/4.1 to 3.4/4.4 of the electromechanical automotive brake system includes the steps of detecting the steering direction of the automobile 1 during travel at a curve, detecting the numbers U of wheel rotations occurring at the wheels 2.1 to 2.4 of the automobile 1 during travel at the curve by means of rotational number sensors 14.1 to 14.4 allocated to the units producing the brake forces, comparing the number U of wheel rotation occurring at each wheel with a desired position pattern of the number U of wheel rotation which indicates the direction of the travel at the curve, and detecting, based on the comparison, the actual positions of the brake force generating units.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
