PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a zinc oxide film low in variation in resistivity value and used appropriately as a transparent conductive membrane by treating the zinc oxide film with a modifying agent consisting of an aq.soln. containing a tervalent metal cation. ;SOLUTION: Substitution reaction and adsorption reaction of zinc and those metals is generated by immersing the zinc oxide film formed on a base material in the aq.soln. containing at least one kind or plural kinds of tervalent metal ions, that are In3+, Al3+, Ga3+, Tf3+, Y3+, Eu3+, Bi3+, Ru3+, Ce3+, or the like, as an improving agent, and the surface of the zinc oxide film is coated with these metals or oxides and the surface is improved. Further, the film is treated with the tervalent metal cation-containing aq.soln. of about 0.5-5 g/L concn., at about pH 3-8, and 20-40°C and for about 5 sec.-5 min. Thus, the modified zinc oxide film is obtained, whose variation in the resistivity value is about 120% even if the film is left to stand in the environment of 60°C temp. and 90% humidity for 5-20 day.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
