PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generates a musical sound signal without any delay behind its generation indication. ;SOLUTION: Some of multiple musical sound generation channels are regarded as a group for sound generation and other musical sound generation channels are regarded as a standby group; when the generation of a musical sound signal is indicated, the generation indication for the musical sound signal is assigned to one of the musical sound signal generation channels in the group for sound generation which is not in process of the generation of the musical sound generation through processes of steps 302 to 312 when the musical sound signal generation channel is not in process of the musical sound signal generation. When all the musical sound signal generation channels are in process of the musical sound signal generation, the generation indication for the musical sound signal is assigned to one of the musical signal sound generation channels in the standby group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
