PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain excellent processing of audience rating data by using the time series bit data equivalent to a single day to form a viewing situation field and storing the presence/absence of viewing equivalent to a single day in the viewing situation field. ;SOLUTION: A record including a broadcasting station 43 that is matching a relevant condition is extracted from a personal sample file 35 according to sample No.39 and checking date 41 of the extracted record, and a bit data on a time band to be decided are added to the extracted record. The total of added bits is defined as a sample viewing fraction in this example. The mean audience rating of the above time band is calculated from Σ sample viewing fraction/(number of samples × time band fraction). When the time band covers 10:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m., for example, the Σsample viewing fraction shows the total number of bits of bit ON ('1') among the bits included between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. out of 1440 bits which are stored in a viewing situation 45 of the record matching the condition.
