PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable testing method of cans and a device realizing it by analyzing echo vibration having a vibration waveform which becomes gradually complicated because of the increase in noise constituents along with the lapse of time in hammering test of a two-piece can, providing a precise frequency spectrum, and accurately grasping the frequency which matches a can internal pressure. ;SOLUTION: The hammering test method used for this testing device comprises a step, in which a next point is predicted as a linear total of the past prescribed number of measurement points after detection signals from a plurality of measurement point are taken from an initial echo vibration, having comparatively less noise at equally determined sampling intervals, a step in which a coefficient minimizing an error is found by executing this prediction value to all the measurement points, a step providing a frequency spectrum from the obtained coefficient, and a step specifying a peak frequency for determining the quality of the inspected body, from a determination as to whether the frequency lies within a determination reference area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
