PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter of high quality in which the uniformity of the surface state is improved, voids around pixels are eliminated and coloring is prevented. ;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an intermediate product for a color filter features that after a supporting substrate for a color filter having a black matrix part and a pixel forming part is subjected to the pretreatment process, the substrate is subjected to the surface treatment to affect the contact angle between the black matrix part and the meniscus of ink and to change the contact angle with time. The method for manufacturing a color filter includes a process of coloring the pixel forming part of the intermediate product manufactured by the above method with ink.
