PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for depolarization capable of dissolving defect arising from wavelength dependency and realizing enlargement, and an optical low pass filter using the means. ;SOLUTION: A depolarizing member 3 is inserted between a horizontal separation plate 1 and a vertical separation plate 2. The two sheets of birefringent plated 5 and 4 constitute the depolarizing member 3. The thickness and size of these birefringent plates 5 and 4 are equalized, and the light separation directions are set in reverse directions mutually.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
