SHEATH PIPE PROPULSIVE WORK METHOD AND PROPULSIVE WORK DEVICE FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aseismatic sheath pipe propulsive work method that is for fluid transportation piping for water, gas, sewage and the like, and a propulsive device that is suitable for use in the method.;SOLUTION: The propulsive work method is used for newly arranging a pipeline of main pipes in a sheath pipe by inserting and joining a spigot of each pipe in and to a socket of the preceding pipe at the rear end. Propulsion is carried out when a proper place on each main pipe in the sheath pipe is supported on a rest, and all the rests are connected in series with cords capable of engagement and disengagement with and from the rests and are forced into the sheath pipe. After the propulsion, the cords are disengaged from the rests and recovered to leave the rests and main pipes remaining in the sheath pipe. The propulsive device comprises the rests movable in the sheath pipe when supporting the main pipes, and the cords having stoppers capable of engagement with engagement portions of the rests. Each stopper engages with the engaging portion of the rest when the cord is drawn in the direction of propulsion, and disengages when the cord is drawn in the direction opposite to the propulsive direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
