PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent-magnet dynamo-electric machine, where reluctance torque arising from auxiliary magnetic poles is obtained and further cogging torque and torque pulsation is suppressed, and to provide a motor vehicle using it. SOLUTION: A magnetic gap is formed between the permanent magnets of a rotor and auxiliary magnetic poles adjacent to the permanent magnets in the circumferential direction. thereby the distribution of magnetic flux density on the rotor surface is made gentle, and cogging torque and torque pulsation is suppressed.
