PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mesoporous aluminosilicate or pure silicate molecular sieve. ;SOLUTION: A method for synthesizing mesoporous aluminosilicate or pure silicate molecular sieve having new hierarchical morphology by addition of an appropriate amount of an alkanol is provided. The molecular sieve may take on either hollow sphere, hollow sphere with support inside or solid sphere depending on regulating the respective ratios Al2O3/SiO2 and TEOS/SiO2. In the molecular sieve, the wall of the microsized spherical structure is composed of ordered nanometer-sized cylindrical pores. Both the dimension and morphology of the mesoporous structure can be controlled by varying reaction component as water content, silicon/surfactant ratio, reaction temperature and hydrothermal temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
