PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a mobile station to specify the position of its own station only from a frequency component (Doppler frequency) measured from a received radio wave from a satellite. ;SOLUTION: In this system having a mobile station 14 communicating through an orbiting satellite, the station 14 calculates the relative position between an orbiting satellite SV1 and its own station based on the Doppler frequency obtained from a received radio wave from the satellite SV1. Then, the station 14 calculates the actual position of its own station by correcting the relative position with positional information received from the satellite SV1 and showing the actual position of the satellite SV1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
