INTEGRATED GATEWAY NETWORK ARCHITECTURE FOR LOOP EMULATION SERVICE ON ATM-over-DSL SERVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to provide a loop emulation service or a voice over packet or a cell transport for an ATM-over-DSL service or the like.;SOLUTION: A network node includes a TDM-ATM gateway to execute a loop function for one narrow band cell free channel or more. The gateway is integrated in a unit executing routing of network traffic. The routing can include switching or multiplexing or the both and consists of ATM routing or TDM traffic routing or the both. In one embodiment, the gateway is integrated in an integrated DLC/DSLAM access node. Using a single element management system can manage the integrated DLC/DSLAM/gateway.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
