PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable parallel running at a low cost, without receiving adverse effects such as temperature changes and noise during the parallel running of reactive power compensation apparatuses. SOLUTION: A first reactive power compensating apparatus 2 and a second reactive power compensating apparatus 3 which are connected to an electric system 1, and run in parallel, each of which is provided with a communication means 5 for digital communication. If one of the first and the second reactive power compensating devices 2, 3 is set as a master device and the other set as a slave device, the master device sends an operation capacity command signal commanding the reactive power output value of the slave device to the slave device via a communication line 6 in the digital communication. The operation capacity command signal is transmitted in the digital communication, thus it is possible to attain the stable parallel running of the reactive power compensating devices 2, 3 without receiving adverse effects, such as temperature changes and noise.
