HARD COTTON MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart ventilating and bending properties, and finger pressure effects to a hard cotton mat while maintaining the cushion property of the hard cotton. ;SOLUTION: A mat body comprised of a cluster of fiber extending in the direction along its surface is cut and cut parts are fit again in the mat in such a way that the fiber direction of the cut parts is positioned in the direction of width of the mat. The width of the cut parts is equal to the thickness of the mat or larger. When the width of the cut parts is larger than that of the mat body, spaces exist between the mat body and the cut parts and the cut parts protrude from the surface of the mat. The cut parts may be rectangular or be formed with projections and depressions. Also, the number of cut parts, the space between cut parts and the width of cut parts can be set arbitrarily according to the use of the mat.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
