PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system that comparatively and quickly detects a current position.;SOLUTION: A user is resident in a service area in which the user uses a mobile phone 10 to make a phone call. The mobile phone 20 receives data denoting a position of a base station. The mobile phone 10 transits data denoting the position of the base station to a handy GPS 50. The handy GPS 50 calculates a rough position where the user is present on the basis of the data denoting the position of the base station and then detects a detailed position at which the user exists. The handy GPS 50 transmits the data denoting the detected detailed position to a digital still camera 80. The digital still camera 80 records image data obtained by photographing and the data denoting the detailed position in cross reference with each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
