PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method capable of simultaneously conducting hydrogenation and isomerization in an identical reactor, therefore enabling both the equipment investment cost and operating cost to be reduced.;SOLUTION: This method comprises the following process: a benzene-contg. hydrocarbon oil as feedstock oil is both hydrogenated and isomerized under pressurized hydrogen (at 0.5-5 MPa) using such a catalyst as to contain at least one active component selected from group VIII noble metals in a substantially noncrystalline metallic oxide carrier based on silicon and magnesium at a reaction temperature of 250-360°C to produce a product oil comprising cyclohexane and methylcyclopentane; wherein the group VIII noble metal(s) is(are) platinum and/or palladium, and the above-mentioned feedstock oil is a catalytically reformed oil or light naphtha 30-100°C in boiling point.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
