PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly perform a propelling construction method even in a curved part by allowing a reinforcing material to abut to an inner peripheral surface of the socket inmost end abutting to the inserting port tip in a pipe propelling construction method for propelling a pipe by pushing the inserting port tip against the socket inmost end. ;SOLUTION: A reinforcing material 8 forms a circular arc piece along the inside surface circumference of a propelling pipe 4 to abut in the circumferential direction along the edge of the socket inmost end 5a. A support column 9 is provided with an extensible/contractible device 9a in an intermediate part so as to pressingly arrange the reinforcing material 8 on the socket inmost end. The reinforcing material 8 is brought into pressure contact with an inside surface of a pipe 1 along the circumference of the socket inmost end 5a by extending the support column 9. Thus, even if an abutting part of the inserting port tip 6a and the socket inmost end 5a is displaced since the propelling pipe 4 approaches a curved part of a pipeline, since the socket inmost end 5a is supported from the inside surface by the reinforcing material 8, or the inserting port tip 6a abuts to the reinforcing material 8, and since shaft directional force is received thereby, shear fracture of a pipe wall corner part is prevented so that the pipe can be smoothly propelled even in the curved part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
