PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pottery plate excellent in qualities such as strength and appearance with a good productivity.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the pottery plate is comprised of the process of obtaining a sheet-like formed body containing pottery raw materials and a binder, the preheating process of preheating the sheet-like formed body while controlling the average temp. raising rate to be 2 to 40°C/min at least in the temp. range of 250 to 450°C, the process of heating the preliminary heated sheet-like formed body up to the maximum temp. of 1,150 to 1,300°C while controlling the average temp. raising rate to be in the range of 2 to 45°C/min in the temp. range from 1,050°C to the maximum temp. of 1,150°C and further heating so that exposure time in the temp. of not less than (maximum temp. -100°C) is in the range of 5 to 30 min to obtain the sheet-like sintered compact and the process of cooling the obtained sheet-like sintered compact.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
