PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the function of a thermocouple by removing constantan by etching up to fixed depth after selectively removing lacquer coat, and thereafter introducing copper to these places. ;SOLUTION: An electric insulated base plate bonded with a constantan layer is coated with a lacquer paint film, and the lacquer is removed following the pattern of a mask placed on the paint film. When thickness of the constantan layer is about 25 μm, the constantan layer is removed by etching up to depth of about 18 μm. and the etching surface is preliminary treated and cleaned to plate copper into the plating thickness of about 28 μm. Next, lacquer adjacent to copper stripe is removed, and a new lacquer coat adhers to the whole surface. This is selectively removed by a mask, lacquer on the copper stripe and parts between projecting part and copper stripes are left, and the part of constantan layer not coated with lacquer is removed. Next, all lacquer is removed, and it can be immediately used as a thermocouple.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
