GAS REPLACEMENT METHOD FOR LARGE TANK AND TANK STRUCTURE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas replacement method for a large tank for allowing the filling of replacing gas at a great flow rate without destruction of a boundary layer to replaced gas, resulting in efficient gas replacement in a short time. ;SOLUTION: If the specific gravity of replacing gas is smaller than that of replaced gas, the replacing gas is filled from a number of nozzles 22 arranged upward in a tank 10 at its upper side upwardly into the tank while the replaced gas is exhausted from a lower auxiliary valve 13L. If the specific gravity of the replacing gas is greater than that of the replaced gas, the replacing gas is filled from a number of nozzles 22 arranged downward in the tank 10 at its lower side downward into the tank 10 while the replaced gas is exhausted from an upper auxiliary valve 13U.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
