PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that in a conventional spot welding machine, it is difficult to move a horn by a desired distance and much labor and time are required. ;SOLUTION: When a screw rod whose one end is mounted on the horn and another end is screwed down into the screw hole of a holding block holding the horn, is normally and reversely rotated, the horn is moved back and forth with the screw rod. A rack is provided on the one side of the horn and the holding block and a pinion is provided on the other side. When the pinion is normally and reversely rotated, the horn is slid back and forth with the rack. A rotation preventing mechanism preventing the rotation of the horn by being fitted with the outer peripheral surface of the horn and the holding block, is provided. The screw rod and the pinion are rotated and operated by a handle. The above either moving mechanism for the horn is provided on a spot welding machine performing spot welding by tips mounted on upper and lower electrodes to a work set between the upper and lower tips.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
