PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of a produced polymer by introducing a modifier for physical properties comprising an aliphatic hydrocarbon, an alicyclic hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon into a polymerization process adopting a single-site catalyst. ;SOLUTION: A modifier for physical properties selected from (A) a 4-12C aliphatic hydrocarbon having preferably ≤7.5 (cal/cm3)1/2 solubility parameter (e.g. hexane or heptane), (B) a 4-12C alicyclic hydrocarbon having preferably ≤7.7 (cal/cm3)1/2 solubility parameter (e.g. cyclohexane), (C) a 6-20C aromatic hydrocarbon having preferably ≥7.7 (cal/cm3)1/2 solubility parameter (e.g. toluene or azobenzene) and a mixture thereof is introduced into a polymerization process adopting a single-site catalyst.
