PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for fastening a shaft to a yoke and simultaneously assisting the shaft to be located on a predetermined position of the yoke during the fastening, to fix the shaft to the yoke in a rotary driving device. SOLUTION: A shaft depressor 30 is used for pressing a shaft to a closed and usually bent part between first and second side surfaces of an U-shaped socket 10 mounted on a slap yoke of a steering shaft assembly to load the shaft, and the shaft depressor 30 is extended through a hole 11 of the first side surface of a socket, and used with a clamp bolt 20 fixed to a screw on the second parallel side surface of the socket. The shaft depressor is formed by a cylindrical body having an inner diameter to be fitted on the clamp bolt, an outer diameter for enabling the shaft depressor to pass through a hole of the first side surface of the U-shaped socket, and a projecting member for pressing the shaft into a part closed by the socket.
