PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and efficiently generate a caption material.;SOLUTION: Video and audio data captured by a computer 1 from a video device 5 are converted into digital data, a file is formed where video data and audio data are made correspondent to each other for each frame and the file to which a frame number to identify each frame is assigned is stored in a hard disk 12. A frame denoting a SHOW point (start frame of time code) is designated and number of this frame is acquired. Succeedingly an IN point (start point of frame) and an OUT point (end point of frame) are set and the frame numbers corresponding to them are acquired. Video and audio data of frames between the IN point and the OUT point are reproduced and a text is entered while hearing sound. When the entry is finished, a time code of the IN point and a time code of the OUT point are calculated from respective frame numbers at the SHOW point, the IN point and the OUT point, and a time code at the IN point, the time code at the OUT point and the text data are stored as data as one set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
