METHOD FOR CLASSIFYING VARIABLE OF SIMULTANEOUS EQUATION SYSTEM DESCRIBED IN HARDWARE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a simultaneous equation system describing a physical circuit and a system to be simulated in a hardware description language. SOLUTION: When the simultaneous equation sub-system of each circuit model is designated, variables in that simultaneous equation sub-system are classified into input, output and intermediate or each parameter of the system and an equation is related with each parameter. All the equations not related with system variables are deleted and the original simultaneous equation sub-system is simplified. The simultaneous equation system for describing the entire physical circuit or system is assembled from theses simultaneous equation sub- systems. For each instance of the circuit model, the copy of the simultaneous equation sub-system of that circuit model is prepared and added to the entire simultaneous equation system. Then, the entire simultaneous equation system is solved and used for analyzing the operation of the original physical circuit or system.
