THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION FOR SLUSH MOLDING AND SLUSH-MOLDED SKIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition, which exhibits good sheet formability when slush-molded and can keep powder flowability irrespective of molding cycles by compounding a plasticizer to a thermoplastic elastomer composition composed of a polypropylene resin, a hydrogenated styrene-butadiene random copolymer rubber and an internal releasing agent.;SOLUTION: A polyterpene resin, a petroleum resin, a coumarone-indene resin or a hydrogenation derivative thereof is used as a plasticizer. The amount of the plasticizer is favorably in the range of 5 to 200 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the thermoplastic elastomer composition. Moreover, when an elastomer having good oil solubility and a process oil are added, good sheet formability is obtained. The amount of the elastomer having excellent oil solubility ranges 20 to 250 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the hydrogenated styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber. The amount of the process oil is favorably in the range of 5 to 200 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the elastomer having excellent oil solubility.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
